July 2008

Another rainy day but I don’t mind it.  Despite the past week of rain, we still need it.  The grass is finally starting to green up again, and I don’t have to worry about hooking the sprinkler up for the garden.  The pigs love the rain, their whole pen is a gigantic mudpit that they’ve been rooting up and rolling around in.  The sheep and chickens are another matter.  Even though they have shelter to escape the rain, they still end up wet and raggedy looking.  The chickens have made their way up to the house, having found the bird feeders.  They’ve taken over the driveway, which now makes walking out to the truck an exercise in poo-dodging.

Today I’ll catch up on indoor chores and maybe run a few errands.  I have a small list going, and hope to cross them all off today.  I work all weekend, which means I’ll be useless from Friday afternoon until Monday evening.  I don’t ever want to work nights again.  Too much time is lost to being tired.

Ok, so the 3rd times the charm, right? I start every blog with the full intention of keeping it current, but something always comes up that distracts me to the point where I feel too much time has passed to pick it back up.  I also used to put way too much pressure on myself to make every single post full of interesting, if not meaningful, text and photos.  This time around I’m gonna keep it low-key.  Just a simple little blog, by a simple little girl, living a simple little life.
