Ugh, it’s been almost a whole month since my last entry, but I’m not gonna beat myself up too badly over it.  After all, it’s been pretty busy around here.  The pigs and sheep have all gone to slaughter (a little early if you ask me), and the older batch of chickens are also sitting in the freezer.  Those we killed and dressed ourselves.  As for the garden… well the rain and japanese beetles pretty much destroyed it.  If I had been a little more motivated I could have probably tried to intervene, but it was raining and rain makes for good sleeping weather, so I stayed in bed instead.  Speaking of that, tonight is my 4th to last night shift at The Big ED.  I have definitely enjoyed my time there, but I can’t wait to get back onto some sort of normal schedule again.  This whole staying-up-days-without-sleep thing is wearing on me.  I’m also looking forward to a commute that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.  This week I have 3 interviews, and each job is very different from the other.  Wish me luck!

Oh, and even though the rain caused most of my tomatoes to fall and rot, I was able to gather enough up to freeze for sauces… here’s proof of my tomato blanching, skinning, seeding, and freezing adventure.  (I’ve never done it before but I googled how-to)
